My Personal Experiences With ToeNail Fungus

This was how I felt 3 years ago. I was so tired of trying the so called "remedies" and "cures" only to find out that none of them worked as advertised. Well, I finally did find "my cure" that worked for me. It's a product called Zetaclear

STOP - right now before you rush over to the Zetaclear site because you need to know a few things first if you want it to work for you too.

What you need to know:

1. Read the directions on the bottle and apply it as directed.

2. Keep applying it even after you think your nail has fully healed. I recommend you get the 6 bottle offer. I used it for a total of 5 months even though my nail visibly cleared up in two weeks.

3. Learn what to do to prevent the fungus from coming back!

You will find a ton of good information on my site for the prevention of toe nail fungus and some of the "other" treatments I have tried that don't work.

Toe Nail Fungus Remedies No One Will Notice

Are you looking for toe nail remedies that you can keep at home without raising eyebrows or feeding the gossip circuits in your neighborhood? If you are like many people your privacy is important. You don't want people whispering about toe nail fungus remedies that might be found in your shopping cart or garbage bin. At the same time you don't want to be plagued by toe nail fungus either. The solution is simpler than you may realize.

Toe Nail Fungus Remedies that Don't Look Like Remedies

Chances are that you have many of the best toe nail fungus remedies at home and don't even realize it. Some favorites are: vinegar, Epsom salt, tea tree oil, and Listerine mouthwash.

Vinegar is best used as a foot soak. Create a solution that is half vinegar and half water and soak your feet in 15 minute increments two or three times per day. The acid in this solution will create a hostile environment for the growth of the toenail fungus. As far as toe nail fungus remedies go, this is one of the least expensive. On the downside it is also one of the smelliest.

Epsom salt foot soaks are also excellent toe nail fungus remedies. With this you will want water that is as warm as you can tolerate without burning your feet. The longer you soak your feet the more effective this will be as a nail fungus remedy. This soak is often best performed two or three times daily.

Tea tree oil is one of the other great toe nail fungus remedies you might want to consider. This can be applied directly your nails for a highly effective treatment. If you experience sensitivity as a result of a full force tea tree oil treatment you may want to consider a milder form that has been mixed with other ingredients such as soap or lotion that uses tea tree oil as one of its ingredients.

Listerine mouthwash is one more toe nail fungus remedy that you can keep in your medicine cabinet and shopping cart without anyone being the wiser. While it may not be your first choice for mouthwash it is an excellent tool for fighting bacteria and fungus. Who knew?

Iodine. Many medicine cabinets have it so it isn't something that would be an obvious indication of toe nail fungus remedies. Iodine is another great all around thing to keep in your medicine cabinet as it has many fascinating uses and no one will know exactly why you are using it. Better yet, the people around you in the grocery store checkout aren't likely to have a clue that this is a highly effective toe nail fungus remedy so they won't make any judgments.

While there is honestly nothing to be embarrassed about if you have toe nail fungus there is also no need to announce it to the world. Any of these items are completely innocent and independent of toe nail fungus remedies so you could have a cart full of them and no one would ever know.

Summer Time and Toenail Fungus

Summer time is perhaps the worst time for toenail fungus.

1. Warm, moist environments are a fungus's best friend. So, if you are the type person that plays indoor or outdoor sports your risk is a little higher of getting a toenail fungus. There are a few things you can do to minimize th risk.
Find a pair of tennis shoes with excellent ventilation. Usually these are the one with a mesh type material. This will allow your feet to breathe and will prevent moisture from building up.

Be sure to remove your shoes and damp socks immediately after playing your favorite sport and put on a pair of dry socks.

Before you go out place a little baby powder inside you socks and shoes to help absorb the moisture.

Just remember that dry is GOOD wet is BAD. I have been free of toenail fungus for over a year now and I use these prevention tips everyday. For those of you that have toenail fungus, I feel for you because I know how miserably I was. Go get some Zetaclear and get rid of your fungus and I promise you that if you follow my tips in this blog it will not return.

Nail Fungus Infections: 2008 Causes and Treatments -Part I

Nail Fungus Infections: 2008 Causes and Treatments -Part I

Nail Fungus Infections: Causes and Treatments Part I
How do you know if you have a fungal infection in your toenails or fingernails and do you think you might have an infection?? It is definitely possible. Before you make your decision, continue reading part I in this series because it may have an impact on your course of treatment if you do have a fungus infection. In part I, you'll learn what nail fungus infection is, what induces it, preventative measures and treatments currently available. The technical name for nail fungus is Onychomycosis. A fungus can be encountered just about anywhere and is very easily contracted. There are literally millions of peopIe who have it. So, don't worry you are not alone in your suffering. One of the reasons nail fungus is so prevalent is because it is very hard to detect early on. Once you are able to see the discolored nail the fungus already has a firm hold. The fungus will appear as a yellow blemish which gradually spreads until it infects the whole nail and further spreads to your neighboring toenails and fingernails. The fungus feels right at home because the conditions at which it grows the best are being met. Because most people wear shoes that are either made of all leather or are not well ventilated, they are supplying the fungus with a warm, moist environment. Optimum breeding conditions are found when an area is warm, moist, and dark. Similar to mold growing on a piece of bread.
Please be aware that nail fungus infections are infectious and can spread from one person to the other. Sharing bathrooms where you have a common shower, toilets, and locker rooms are the likeliest places to contract a fungus infection. These places are usually moist and visited by people not wearing shoes. The fungus which gets transfered to the floor as people walk around then gets picked up by those unsuspecting people. It is also contractible from fingernail clippers, nail files and emery boards. This is why it is important to practice good hygiene so that you are not infecting other people. If you feel that you have a fungus infection, you might want to start treating it immediately as it is more difficult to treat once the fungus infection becomes more severe.

7 Tips for Treating Nail Fungus

First, let me explain what nail fungus is. Nail Fungus is an infection which occurs when fungi infect one or more of your nails. A nail fungal infection may initially appear as a white or yellow blemish under the tip of your fingernail or toenail. As the nail fungus moves deeper into your nail, it may cause your nail to turn brown or yellow, thicken and develop brittle edges an ugly and often times very painful problem. These infections generally develop on nails continually exposed to warm, moist environments, such as athletic or work shoes. They can even occur from damp shower floors.

1. Nails must be kept clean and dry. Nail fungus naturally occurs on your toenails. By keeping them clean and dry your prevent fungus from growing.

2. Don't wear shoes that are too tight. Your feet need to breathe. By keeping them enclosed in tight non breathable shoes you are just inviting fungus to begin growing. Avoid wearing all leather shoes with no ventilation for long periods of time.

3. Don't borrow or use anyone's nail cutter or other tools from family members. Remember that fungus is transferable.

4. Wear open toed shoes such as flip flops or sandals.

5. Change your socks as soon as you realize they are moist or damp. This is especially important if you play sports.

6. Prevent damage to your toenail while playing sports by wearing the correct size shoe and one that is breathable. This is especially true in sports such as soccer or tennis. Trauma to the toenail can be one of the reasons for the start of fungus growth. If one of your toenails gets injured it allows the bacteria to get in. Once it occurs in one toenail it spreads to other nails on the same foot.

7. Treat nail fungus as early as you can to keep it from spreading.

If you already have an established fungal outbreak, there are a few good over the counter products to get rid of the infection. There are also prescription medicines available. Nail Fungus can be treated in the traditional way, self treated, or it can be doctor prescribed. Some prescription medicines can cause side effects especially on those people who are suffering from liver diseases and can also cause allergies because of its high toxic contents. Awareness in preventing it can minimize its risk to preserve your healthy nail. It generally takes 3 months to be totally fungus free but results can be seen in as little as one week. In three months while your nails grow, the medicine applied topical prevents the fungi from growing. The healthy nail will then begin to grow back. Curing Nail fungus has its success rate at 60% to 80% percent and it is not assured that it will not occur again. As soon as you recognize the symptoms of nail fungus, you need to begin treating it with Zetaclear

Toe Nail Fungus Treatments that Didn't Work for Me

1. Tea Tree Oil . The Mayo Clinic even suggest that "When applied topically, tea tree oil may improve the appearance of the nail" (Mayo Clinic Family Health Book). --- Sorry didn't work for me. Made my toenails hurt after 3 days.

2. There is one popular prescription medication that you take a pill for Nail Fungus that doctors warn people with liver problems not to take it or it will damage their health. --Too many side effects and too expensive. I never even considered this one after reading the warnings.

I don't know about you but I really don't trust big pharmacy companies to make health decisions for me especially if they are using artificial ingredients that have no basis in nature to treat a simple problem of toenail fungus.

3. Listerine Mouth wash --I read about this one in an online forum. Soaked my feet for 2 weeks everyday and man did they smell good but my fungus was still there.

4. Oregano & Olive Oil --Good on bread but not on my toes. Another online forum answer.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar --Nope this one didn't work either. I soaked my feet once again for 2 weeks in this stuff.
